VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Commission approved of a Visitor’s Committee recommendation to allocate $200,000 from a Valley City Tourism Development grant to disburse the money to the Valley City Park & Recreation District to build a new pickleball court at the Hi Line Complex.
Valley Park Board Director Tyler Jacobson said interest in pickleball has increased in this community.
Jacobson said the total estimated cost of to build the new pickleball courts is $500,000. So, he said they are working to secured grants from other sources like AARP, a State Park System Grant and the Garrision Diversion Conservancy. He said once funding for the new pickleball court construction is secured, bids will be let in 2024.
Meanwhile, Jacobson said construction work continues on the new $1 million tennis court complex on the northside of Valley City.
