MINOT, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Junior Jacob Nitschke pitched a 2-hit shutout over the Skyhawks of Bismarck Shiloh Christian on Thursday afternoon to help the Loboes of Lamoure/Litchville/Marion win 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the 2023 State Class B Baseball tournament at Corbitt Field. No. 3 seeded LLM improves to 13-1 overall, Shiloh drops to 22-7 overall.
Nitschke found himself in a bases loaded jam right away in the top of the first inning, but he got the next batter to strike out and then a double play to end the inning, he held the game in check the rest of the way. He worked all seven innings, 95 pitches, seven strikeouts, two hits, two walks and one hit batter. Trace King takes the loss, working five innings, two earned runs. Justin Bosch came in and worked the bottom of the sixth. Dylan Carlson, Anthony Hanson and Jacob Nitschke had two hits each, Carlson and Hanson each scored a run. Carlson scored on a botch pickoff attempt at first, the ball rolled all the way down the line and he was able to score.
