CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Carrington man is facing a multitude of charges including felony charges for possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with a bizarre incident that occurred on Main Street in Carrington in the early morning on April 21st.

According to Carrington Police, 36-year-old Andrew Jager of Carrington was walking down the middle of Main Street just before 7 am carrying a gun case and yelling at individuals passing by.

Police say Jager was only 2 blocks from the school, showed persistent erratic behavior, and refused to comply with officers’ commands to drop the gun case. Police tried to arrest Jager, but he resisted, and eventually, police were assisted by two bystanders.

During a search officers found Jager was carrying two concealed pistols, as well as a full magazine, and multiple boxes of ammunition. In the gun case, he was carrying a semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun.

Jager was transported to Stutsman County Corrections in Jamestown.

Jager remains jailed on a $500 cash bond. He is being charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, Class C felonies, and two misdemeanor counts of carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. His next court appearance is set for June 13th at 11 am.
