VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Roof rafters gave way this month at the Barnes County Senior Center building on 2nd Avenue Southeast in Valley City.

Director Pat Hansen said heavy wet snow from the last snow storm, more than likely caused the rafters to give way.

She said crews cleared snow and ice away from the roof a couple of weeks before this incident.

Hansen said no one was injured and Enterprise Sales is repairing the roof. The Barnes County Senior Center remains open and all activities are on their normal schedule.
