June Parker went to be with Jesus April 22, 2023 at SMP Health St. Raphael in Valley City, ND. June Imelda Joyceleen Haagenstad was born in Amidon, ND on June 2, 1932 to Martin and Myrtle Haagenstad. She attended White Lake School near Amidon.
June married Jerome Stockert in September 1950 in Lebanon Lutheran Church and together they raised four children. Jerome passed away in 1975. After Jerome’s passing, she married Ken Parker.
In addition to Amidon, she lived in Bowman, New England, New Salem, Tower City and lastly settled in Valley City.
June was known for her wonderful laughter, positive attitude and her love and acceptance of others. She held a variety of positions throughout her lifetime including waitress, Watkins dealer, truck driver, Head Start aide and daycare provider. June volunteered for 4-H, Faith in Action and the Senior Center. She enjoyed sewing her children’s clothes and crocheting. In her free time, she loved bingo, playing cards, gardening, flowers and farming. She had a love for dogs, cats and even had a pet lamb.
June is survived by her children; Bonnie Erickson, Hunter, ND; Coleen Richey, Aurora, CO; Vicki (Ryon) Jackson and Elray Stockert of Valley City; and many, many grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands Jerome Stockert and Ken Parker; brothers Eugene, Robert and Ernest; sons-in-law Collins Richey and Dale Erickson; a great-great granddaughter Nevaeh Erickson; great grandson Tim Erickson; an infant great grandson Marcus Stockert; and a granddaughter-in-law Julie Erickson.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery, Amidon at a later date.
Memorials may be designated to Barnes County Food Pantry.
