JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The James River Valley Library System encourages all community members to visit the library during National Library Week, April 23-29, to explore all they have to offer.
Most people know about the wealth of stories available at the library–from picture books and large print to audio books and eBooks–but there’s so much more to the story of libraries.
Libraries are welcoming spaces that bring communities together for entertainment, education, and connection through programming and other great services. James River Valley Library System offers a wide array of programs, classes, and resources, including free access to eBooks, movie and music downloads, and programs of all kinds for all ages.
Libraries play a critical role in the economic vitality of communities by providing internet and technology access, literacy skills, and support for job seekers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs. James River Valley Library System supports Jamestown and all of Stutsman County with services such as free computer use at both Alfred Dickey and Stutsman County libraries, printing and photocopying, state park passes, a seed library (which provides free vegetable and flower seeds to individuals) genealogy research assistance, bookmobile outreach services to all areas of the county, book bin delivery for classrooms, book bags for assisted living and nursing home residents, and a large Library of Things collection. The Library of Things provides a variety of items like games, tools, small kitchen appliances, STEM items, crafting supplies and sporting equipment.
If you haven’t checked out Alfred Dickey Library, Stutsman County Library, and the Bookmobile lately, you’re missing the full story. Stop by for a visit to celebrate with them during National Library Week, April 23-29.
