VALLEY CITY, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The awards continue to flood in for senior Emma Hillerud and sophomore Julia Skari of the Jamestown gymnastics team.
Skari was tabbed as a first team all-state gymnast in 2023 and Hillerud was named the NDHSCA POWERade Outstanding Senior Athlete by the High School Coaches Association on Monday night.
Hillerud and Skari helped the Blue Jays take third at the state gymnastics meet back in February as the two all-state gymnasts shined for Jamestown. Skari finished fifth during the all-around competition and individual championships while Hillerud took fourth during the all-around and eighth in the individual championships. Hillerud was also the WDA and North Dakota Senior Athlete of the Year for gymnastics.
Rachel Johnson Krug of Bismarck High was named the 2023 NDHSCA Subway Coach of the Year.
