JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In a meeting held on Monday night, the Jamestown School Board approved the resignation of Amy Tarno.

Tarno, a business education instructor at Jamestown High School, has been charged with a felony, 8 misdemeanors, and a criminal infraction following a search of her home by the Stutsman County Narcotics Task Force.

Tarno of Jamestown has been charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, methadone, hydrocodone, LSD, and drug paraphernalia.

According to the criminal complaint, during the search of Tarno’s home in northeast Jamestown, officers found approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine, 17 grams of marijuana, several THC edibles, methadone, hydrocodone, diazepam, and clonazepam pills, and approximately 4 dosage units of LSD. Officers also found drug paraphernalia.

The complaint says that Tarno admitted to having meth and marijuana in her basement and that she and her friends would use the drugs. She denied selling any drugs.

Tarno had been on administrative leave. The resignation took effect immediately. The resignation was voluntary, so Tarno is not eligible for unemployment benefits.
