SHEYENNE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A shooting inside Rindy’s Sheyenne Bar in Sheyenne, ND has left one man dead.

Eddy County Sheriff Paul Lies tells NewsDakota.com that the incident occurred shortly after 7 pm on Sunday night. He confirms the victim has died. The victim’s name has not been released.

The Eddy County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help locating 45-year-old Nicholas Poitra. Poitra is a person of interest in the case.

Poitra is considered armed and extremely dangerous, do not approach and contact your local law enforcement agency with any information related to his location.

Nicholas Poitra is described as a Native American male, 6’3”, 260 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair.

Authorities are in cooperation with the FBI, BIA, and ND BCI in the investigation.
