JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Thursday evening there will be a “listening session” regarding the upcoming Farm Bill at the Farmers Union office in Jamestown.

The event is sponsored by the Dakota Resource Council. The DRC wants to hear from farmers, ranchers, and everyone living in our area. Samuel Wagner, Field Organizer with the Dakota Resource Council says that information will be provided about current programs and the upcoming farm bill.

The Farm Bill affects rural communities more than any other piece of federal legislation. In 2018 $428 billion of federal tax dollars were allocated to rural communities, nutrition programs, conservation efforts, and agricultural projects.

The event is on Thursday, February 16th from 7 pm to 9 pm at the ND Farmers Union headquarters in Jamestown. The event is not affiliated with the ND Farmers Union. It is free to attend.
