JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Goalie Andrew Walz didn’t allow a couple of early goals rattle him as he recovered nicely and led the Blue Jays to a come from behind  4-3 win over Bismarck Century Friday night at Wilson Arena.

Walz absolutely stood on his head late in the game as the Patriots had a power play and pulled their goalie for a six on four advantage. Century pelted Walz with a barrage of point black shots over the final two minutes of the game and he managed to make remarkable save after remarkable save. Walz finished with 26 saves.

The comeback began when the Patriots were accessed a five minute major late in period one with Jamestown down 2-0.

The Jays responded with power play goals by a pair of Defenseman with shots fired out near the blue line.

Senior Regan Sortland snapped in his second goal of the season, and Senior Jarrett Zalumskis buried his third of the season, and period one ended tied at two.

Century reclaimed the lead with a goal in period two after Walz lost his Goalie stick and that left him vulnerable for a shot that beat him right out front.

The Jays tied it early in the third when Senior Brooks Roaldson snapped in his team leading 15th of the season.

Shortly there after, Jamestown went on the power play and got the game winner when  Senior Max Mehus skated the goal line and top shelved the puck glove side to give the Jays their first lead of the game and their third power play goal on the night.

Each team had 29 shots on net. Bismarck Century Junior Hayden Ritter had two goals, his eighth and ninth of the season.

Jamestown improves to 9-6-2 overall and 8-5-2-2 in the West Region. The Patriots chances of winning the conference took a hit as they slip to 11-7-1 overall and 10-4-3 in the West.

Next up for the Blue Jays is a trip to West Fargo on Saturday, February 4th for a non conference game against the Packers.
