OAKES, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes led most of the game against the Leola-Frederick Titans yet couldn’t get anything to fall in the fourth quarter. They would lose by a score of 56-45.
The game started out strong for both teams. They would trade blows back in forth in the first quarter to end it tied at 15 all but the scoring would dry up after that. The second quarter saw very little scoring. Only 10 for the Tornadoes and 8 for the Titans to make it 25-23 Oakes at the half.
The third quarter saw Oakes jump out to their largest lead of the night. They would build on the lead they got at half to make it 41-36 going into the fourth quarter. That would essentially be the end of all scoring for the Tornadoes as they would only score 2 field goals in the entire final frame shooting 2/11. Leola-Frederick would score 23 in the quarter to win the game 56-45.
The Bank North Player of the Game was named as Trey Skoglund who had 8 points on the night and had a great defensive night despite fouling out.
