MANDAN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School girls’ basketball team extended its win streak to three games on Tuesday night on the road at Mandan as the Blue Jays defeated the Braves 72-59.
The Blue Jays lit up the scoreboard in the first half, connecting for eight threes in the opening 18 minutes. Senior Ella Falk tallied 16 points before the break and pressure in the backcourt, especially from Breanna Oettle, helped keep Mandan off balance.
Jamestown extended its lead early in the second half before the Braves got back within ten. Mandan would never bring the lead back to single digits in the second half though as Jamestown picked up its fifth win in the last six games. The Blue Jays finished the night 11-17 at the free throw line, hitting nine in a row during one stretch.
Falk had a game-high 19 points, including five made threes. Oettle also ended the night in double figures with 14 points and Teagan Bosche had 10.
With the victory, the Jays improve to 5-3 on the year and 4-3 in the West Region. Jamestown hosts Watford City on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 2:00 PM from Jerry Meyer Arena.
