OAKES, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Tornadoes picked up their 7th straight win on Monday January 9th taking down Griggs-Midkota by a score 57-21.

The Tornadoes started off fast and never looked bad jumping out to a big 18-4 lead after the first quarter and keeping the 14 point lead through the half going into the break up 28-14.

Laikyn Roney lead the way with 14 points in the first half going 6/10 and 2/4 from the charity stripe. The Titans were led by Lauryn Halvorson who went 3/6 with 3 three pointers for 9 points.

The second half saw the Tornadoes expanding their lead to 45-16 after the third quarter after dominating the time of possesion and steals. They would continue to build their lead and win the game 57-21.

The Tornadoes were led in scoring by  Roney who would end the night with 20 points going 8/13 from the field and 4/8 from the charity stripe. Kate Harris was also an important late in the game tallying 10 points in the fourth quarter going 4/7 from the field with 2 threes.

Harris would earn the Bank North Player of the Game.

The Tornadoes are now 3-0 inside the District and 7-1 overall tallying their 7th straight win. They next play Sargent County on Thursday in Gwinner.
