VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The LaMoure-Litchville/Marion Loboes started down by 15 and only had a single point but they came back to beat the May-Port-CG Patriots by a score of 40-37.

The game started all Patriots with the Loboes not logging a single field goal till well into the 2nd quarter. Thats when Max Musland would pop off for 10 points, going 4/4. The Loboes would trail at the half 23-14 after tailing in the first quarter 11-1.

The 3rd quarter saw the turnovers start to mount for the Patriots with a total of 17 on the night. The Loboes were able to capitalize on this and would trail after the 3rd 30-28.

LLM and MPCG would not be able to record a field goal for the first couple minutes of the 4th before the Loboes hit 2 big 3’s to take the lead. They would trade once more before solidly taking the lead by 6, their largest lead of the night. The lead would go back down to 3 with under a minute left. The Patriots would have the ball with under 30 seconds left before a baseline error resulted in the Loboes getting possesion. A final desperation heave would miss wide as well for the Patriots securing the Loboes victory.

Musland would be named the player of the game with a game leading 16 points going 6/12 on the night, 1/3 from beyond the arc, and 3/4 from the charity stripe.

This is the Loboes first Barnes County Tournament win since 2018-19. They next play Linton-HMB at home on January 13th.
