JAMESTOWN, N.D.(NewsDakota.com) – The Alfred Dickey Library in Jamestown will be closed until further notice.
A water pipe burst to cause a considerable amount of damage in the building. According to officials, a majority of the books were saved, but many were lost.
Library staff and volunteers helped to clean up water and debris throughout the weekend. Steam Brothers brought in equipment to help with water removal.
According to library staff, there is still a lot of cleanup to be done, and the full extent of damage is not known.
Because of the ongoing cleanup efforts, the after-school program has been moved to the Methodist Church, next door to the library. It will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 pm on December 19th through December 21st.
The Stutsman County Library will be open Monday through Thursday 9:30 am to 8:00 pm, Friday from 9:30 to 6 pm, and Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm.
