JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The #9 University of Jamestown men’s basketball team shot 70% from the field for the game on Sunday afternoon as the Jimmies trounced Presentation College, 121-79 at Newman Arena.

The Jimmies were unmatched on the floor from the beginning of the game on Sunday as UJ shot 74% from the field and 65% from long range in the opening half. Mason Walters and Marc Kjos combined for 33 of Jamestown’s 66 points in the first half and the senior duo only missed one shot on 12 attempts. UJ led Presentation 66-33 at the half.

The second half saw big highlight dunks down the stretch from Walters, Cole Woodford, and Christian Lietz to cap off another big showing on offense for Jamestown. The Jimmies came into play on Sunday 4th in the NAIA in points per game at 91 a game. This is the sixth time this year Jamestown has hit 100+ points in a game.

Walters finished with a new career-high, putting up 39 points and 10 rebounds for his 61st career double-double. Walters has now scored at least 20 points in every game this year. Kjos added 17 points with five rebounds and five assists. Freshman Jacob Axemaker tallied a new career-high, picking up 15 points on 5-10 shooting from deep.

The Jimmies cap off 2022 with an 11-2 overall record, winning four consecutive games heading into Christmas break. UJ heads to Dickinson to face the Blue Hawks on January 3rd, 2023 before going to Iowa for a doubleheader on the 6th and 7th with Northwestern and Briar Cliff.
