CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City State men’s and women’s basketball teams completed the week with their third sweep in four days Friday night.

The Viking women improved to 8-1 on the season with a big 78-45 victory over Trinity Bible College at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse. Stephanie Pedersen led the Vikings with 15 points on 7-for-10 shooting. Kelsey Hunter added 11 points for VCSU, which had 11 different players find the scoring column.

The Viking men also earned their eighth victory of the season, taking care of Trinity Bible by a score of 75-65 Friday night. Sekani Milligen knocked down six 3-pointers and scored 20 points for VCSU.

Aaron Duske dropped 16 points and Gus Kueber added 14 in the victory. The Vikings shot 52 percent in the game and improve to 8-2 overall.

VCSU’s men are ranked No. 17, and the women are ranked No. 19. Both teams are off for about a week and a half before make a road trip, playing doubleheaders at Northern New Mexico College (El Rito, NM) and Johnson and Wales University (Denver, Colo.) on Dec. 16 and 18.
