Patrick Windish, 56, of Valley City, ND, passed away early Monday morning, December 12, 2022 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown, ND.

Patrick A. Windish was born April 6, 1966, in Valley City, ND, the son of John and Karen (Stiles) Windish.  He was raised in Fingal, ND and graduated from Maple Valley High School.  Patrick received his degree in Elementary Education from Valley City State University and began his teaching and coaching career in the fall of 1989 at Streeter, ND.  He and Tammy Soupir were united in marriage on October 20, 1989 at Courtenay, ND.

Mr. Windish’s career took him to Northwood, Wimbledon/Courtenay, Drake/Anamoose.  He earned a Master’s degree in Education Administration from North Dakota State University and then accepted a position as Superintendent at Max, ND.  His final position was Superintendent at Maple Valley High School.

Mr. Windish never went to work.  He loved profession as an educator for 34 years and a basketball coach for 21 years.  Mr. Windish held dear all of the relationships with his students and athletes over the years.  He also liked hunting and spending time at the lake with his family and friends.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Tammy Windish; three children, Allison Windish, Amber (Devontae) Riley, and Trey Windish; seven siblings, Ann & Steve Williams, Steve & Tammie Windish, Paula & Greg Spenningsby, Beth & Bruce Kubista, Kevin Windish, Mark “Ozzie” Windish, and Kate & Ken Larson; father and mother-in-law, Darold & Claudia Soupir, and their children, Chris & Anita Soupir, Joel & Jennifer Fremstad, Sarah DuRose, and Pete & Kristen Soupir; and many niece, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial – 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown with Father Sean Mulligan, celebrant.

Visitation – One hour before each service at the churches.

Rosary – 6:30 p.m., Friday, December 16 with a Prayer Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Wimbledon, ND.

Burial – St. Mary Cemetery, Courtenay, ND.
