VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A 24-year-old man was arrested after Valley City police officers responded to a crash on a bridge deck in the 800 block of 8th Avenue Southwest around 2:52am on Saturday, December 3rd.
Police Chief Phil Hatcher said the crash involved a vehicle that had gone over the concrete abutment and was resting on the sidewalk, hanging over the side of the bridge over the Sheyenne River south of the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse.
Hatcher said members of the Valley City Fire Department and Barnes County Ambulance extricated the driver, Dempsey Williams from the vehicle safely and transported him to Mercy Hospital in Valley City for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Hatcher said alcohol was a factor in this crash. He said Williams is faces charges with the Barnes County State’s Attorney’s Office following this incident.
