GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The National Weather Service issues this winter weather advisory for the region.
The Red River Valley and points westward will see blowing and drifting snow into this evening due to northwest wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph. The strongest wind gusts and most widespread impacts west of the Red River Valley, from Langdon thru Devils Lake to Valley City and Forman, North Dakota.
Within the Red River valley, northwest wind gusts closer to 30 mph and impacts will be more limited.
New snow accumulations today less than 1 inch for most, though isolated higher amounts possible in the Bemidji and Baudette areas of Minnesota.

TODAY: CLOUDY AND WINDY, WITH PERIODS OF LIGHT FALLING SNOW AND SIGNIFICANT BLOWING SNOW. TEMPS FALLING THROUGH THE DAY, COLD WIND CHILLS AND REDUCED VISIBILITY IN RURAL AREAS. WIND: NORTHWEST 20 TO 35 MPH.
TONIGHT: CLOUDY AND WINDY WITH PERIODS OF SNOWFALL AND CONTINUED BLOWING AND DRIFTING ISSUES ALONG WITH COLD WIND CHILLS. LOWS NEAR ZERO. WIND CHILLS IN THE TEENS BELOW.
FRIDAY: PARTLY SUNNY BUT CONTINUED WINDY, WITH BLOWING SNOW AND POOR RURAL TRAVEL, ALTHOUGH A LITTLE LESS WINDY TOMORROW. HIGH: TEENS. WIND: SOUTHWEST 10 TO 20, GUSTING TO 30 MPH.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY BUT COLD. LOWS: NEAR ZERO, HIGHS IN THE TEENS WITH COLD WIND CHILLS SATURDAY. HIGHS IN THE 20S SUNDAY.
