CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Work on the 350-foot river bank stabilization project near the Elks building in Valley City moving along at a good pace.

Barnes County Soil Conservation District spokeswoman Lori Frank says the work is getting done faster thanks to the nice weather.

The contractor “Star Enterprise” is placing rock, timber and other material to prevent future bank erosion along the Sheyenne River.

60 percent of the $280,000 project is being paid for through an E-P-A grant. The city’s share is slightly more than $6,000 with two property owners picking up the remaining portion of the cost.
