NAPOLEAN, ND (NewsDakota.com) – Day two of the Region Three Volleyball tournament is the day of the Semifinals. The field of four will be cut in half with coverage starting at 5:15 p.m. on 98.3 Thunder Country, 1220AM/100.3 FM KDDR, and on NewsDakota.com.

Game one will feature the Carrington Cardinals taking on the #10 Lamoure-Litchville/Marion Loboes. The Loboes faced an unexpected challenge yesterday in South Border being brought to the brink in 5 sets. The Carrington Cardinals also faced a tough opponent in Strasburg/Zeeland yet won in straight sets against the Clippers. The last time these teams met was in a tournament which saw Carrington win 2-1. They also played once in the regular season where Lamoure won 3-1. The last time these two teams met in a Region Tournament was 2016 in the Championship game which saw LaMoure winning 3-2.

Game two features the #1 Linton-HMB Lions taking on the #9 Oakes Tornadoes. The Tornadoes faced off against a tough Medina-Pingree/Buchanan team yesterday but won in straight sets. The Lions had a tough challenge as well taking on the Edgley-Kulm-Montpelier Rebels with the first 2 sets being decided by only a couple of points. They would still win in straight sets. The last time these two teams met was on October 13th when Oakes would be the first and only team to bring Linton to 5 sets all season. The Tornadoes also had a lead 7-5 lead in set 5 but ended up falling 15-11. The last time these two teams met in the Region Tournament was last year’s championship game which saw Linton win in straight sets to go to their 2nd straight State Tournament.

The winners of this game will take each other on for the Championship and a shot at the State Tournament tentatively scheduled for Thursday on 98.3 Thunder Country, 1220AM/100.3 FM KDDR, and on NewsDakota.com.
