JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School District continues to deal with supply chain issues.

AIA agreements with Consolidated Construction needed to be extended according to Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech.

Dr. Lech says Consolidated Construction and general contractors have adjusted to have temporary fixes in place.

As far as operations being affected, Gussner Elementary and Jamestown Middle School will see no impact. Jamestown High School will see a delay in the arrival of heat pumps, which will require temporary heating to continue

For facility projects, Dr. Lech says the Lincoln Elementary parking lot has been completed and is being utilized.

“With the partial purchase of the Legacy Center by the University of Jamestown, we were notified last week that they will allow some parking in the south parking lot,” Dr. Lech stated. “Because availability will not support all needs and it will be irregular, the additional parking for staff was still a necessity. This is a secondary piece that will support drop-off, but particularly afternoon pickup. Additionally, the lot addresses a long-term concern from surrounding residents regarding street parking.”

Dr. Lech also discussed the opening of Business Manager and Human Resources Discussion after Sally Ost announced her retirement.

He says he would recommend the new business manager be enrolled in the North Dakota School Board Association’s Business Manager Certification Program.

This will be particularly important important if the individual hired is coming from the private sector,”
