VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  After sweeping a doubleheader over Minnesota-Morris on Wednesday, the Viking basketball teams head to one of the region’s headlining basketball venues this weekend.

Valley City State will face Dakota Wesleyan and Mount Marty Saturday and Sunday at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.  The Pentagon has become a leading sports facility for a number of sports in the region.

Adriana Torres (Sr., Pelican Rapids, MN) scored the game-winner with 23 seconds left for the Viking women in a 61-58 win over Morris Wednesday night.  She co-led four in double figures with 13, with Taryn Dieterle (Sr., Valley City, ND) also scoring 13 and adding nine rebounds.

Daevonte Munson (Sr., Roseville, MN) led the Viking men, scoring 16 in a 70-64 win over Morris in the nightcap.  Cayden Rickard (So., Fargo, ND) added 15.  The Vikings pulled away in the second half after trailing at halftime.

Dakota Wesleyan is ranked 12th nationally entering the games on Saturday.  Neither Wesleyan team has played this year, while both Mount Marty teams are 1-1.

Game times are at 6:00 PM for the women Friday, with the men to follow.  The women lead at 12:00 PM Sunday, with the men to follow.
