VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com)  The Hi-Liner cross country team posted a team win and individual champion honors in their final regular season meet, a prep event for next week’s state meet in Jamestown.

Valley City won the girls 4,000 meter event, sweeping th top three individual places and placing five runners in the top 15.  Reagan Berg recovered from an event that prevented her from finishing the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) event in Grand Forks the week before, running a 15:34 to win the individual title.

Greta Goven was second at 15:42.  Brynn Lueck ran third at 16:17.  Cadence Fetsch came in ninth 16:55, and Carly Goven ran 15th with a 17:08.

Corben Golovanoff led the boys with a 14:47, finishing 32nd.  Tucker Johnson ran 14:58 to finish 43rd.

The state meet will take place Saturday at Pipestem Reservoir in Jamestown.
