BILLINGS, Mont. (jimmiepride.com) — The University of Jamestown men’s golf team is in second place after the first day of the Yellow Jacket Fall Invite, hosted by Montana State University-Billings at the par 72, 6802-yard Lake Hills Golf Course.

Thirty-six holes were played Monday with the final 18 set to begin at 10:00 AM Central on Tuesday.

Jamestown shot scores of 289 and 298 and is 21 shots back of MSU-Billings for the team lead (285-281).

“We got off to a slow start on the second round today, but the guys kept battling,” UJ head coach Zach Hale said. “We will continue building off the positives and look to have a great day tomorrow.”

Max Noffsinger (SO/Ft. Collins, Colo.) is tied for sixth at 1-over 145 (72-73), Jackson Worner (SR/West Fargo, N.D.) is tied for eighth at 2-over 146 (71-75), and Logan Douglas (FR/Stanley, England) is tied for 13th at 4-over 148 (71-77). Benjamin Schaefer (JR/New Rockford, N.D.) is tied for 18th at 5-over 149 (75-74) and Gehrig Geiss (SO/Glen Ullin, N.D.) is in 26th at 8-over 152 (76-76).

Playing as individuals, Adam Nedens (SR/Billings, Mont.) is tied for eighth at 2-over 146 (73-73) and Carter Wells (SR/Huron, S.D.) is tied for 33rd at 19-over 163 (86-77).
