Diane Korf, age 82, of Valley City, ND, died Saturday, September 24th at SMP-St. Raphael in Valley City. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 29th at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and one hour before the service on Thursday all at Faith Lutheran Church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the church. Inurnment will be at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery in Mandan. Diane Rae Myer, the daughter of Gordon and Marjorie (Smith) Myer, was born February 18, 1940 in Valley City. She attended school in Pillsbury, ND and then went to High School in Valley City. Diane graduated at the top of her class and then went on to college at NDSU. She graduated as a Registered Dietitian. She married Art Korf in June, 1962. They moved to California where she did her internship at the VA Hospital. The couple returned to Valley City where Diane worked at Mercy Hospital as a Dietitian. Diane was active in the DAV, AmVets, Eagles, Bridge Club, Sorority, PEO, active on the church council and with her Coffee Girls. Diane enjoyed quilting, playing cards, dancing, church, reading and visiting with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new and interesting places. One of her favorite trips was going to China and sailing on peapod boats.
Diane is survived by her daughter Sandi (Charles, Jr.) Mielke, Valley City, ND; two grandchildren, Emma and Evan Mielke; two brothers, Gordon (Sha-ling) Myer, Jr. and Drew (Lynn) Myer; one brother-in-law, David Moseley; numerous nieces and nephews; two very special friends, Joan Noeske and Donna Nelson.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eldy, a daughter Heidi and a sister Phyllis.
