JAMESTOWN, N.D. (jimmiepride.com) – A night after scoring seven goals in the season opener, the University of Jamestown D2 hockey team added six more to their total Saturday night in a 6-2 win over St. Cloud State (Minn.) University in WCCHA action.

Jamestown earns its first sweep as newly-minted members of the conference, and will return to action September 30 for a weekend series at St. Thomas (Minn.) University.

Six different players had goals for the Jimmies, including first period markers by Christian Jarmusz (JR/Eden, N.Y.), Justin King (JR/Markham, Ontario), Gunnar Gibbs (SR/Grand Forks, N.D.), and Josh Hoffman (JR/McMurray, Pa.), all of whom were goal scorers in Friday’s win.

Alex Church (SO/Troy, Ohio) (second period) and Quin Garrison (SR/Prince George, British Columbia) (third period) joined Gibbs with power play goals Saturday as the Jimmies were an efficient 3-for-5 with the man advantage.

Jordan Lott (FR/Canmore, Alberta) stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced in his UJ debut. Jamestown outshot St. Cloud State by a 51-24 margin.
