Kulla, 84, formerly of Kensal, ND, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in Minnetonka, MN, with her family by her side.
Margie attended Valley City State College and went on to teach in a rural one room schoolhouse in the Edmunds and Kensal community for 6 years. After raising her children she worked at the Kensal School until 1999. Margie lived most of her life in Kensal. As her illness progressed she moved to Fargo, ND with her husband for 4 years. Two years after his death she moved to Minneapolis, MN for the last 7 years of her life. Even though she moved away from Kensal, she always felt Kensal was her home.
Diagnosed with Vascular Dementia for the past 14 years, Margie persevered. She brought much joy to all those who knew her though her wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and beautiful singing voice. On more than one occasion we recall mom taking us by the hand and saying, “let’s dance”. And on more than one occasion we did. We never knew mom had such a beautiful singing voice, but we always knew she had a beautiful spirit.
Margie will be sadly missed by her children, Craig & Shirley Kulla, West Fargo, ND, Lou Ann & Randy Narloch, Eden Prairie, MN, Curt & Joan Kulla, Lakeville, MN, and Rex & Jane Kulla, Maple Grove, MN. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Ross & Jenna Narloch, Brady Narloch, Ben Narloch, Kelsey Kulla, Nick Kulla, Jamie Kulla, James Kulla, Travis Kulla, and Brianna Kulla. She is also survived by one sister, Delayne Berry, Laguna Hills, CA.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George Kulla; an infant daughter; her parents, Louis and Francis Pitra; two brothers, Keith and Bud Pitra; and one sister, Harriet Schulz.
