VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A candidate’s forum for District 24 North Dakota House of Representatives was held Tuesday, September 20th in the Valley City High School Activities Center.

Republican’s Dwight Kiefert, and Cole Christensen along with Democrat Kaitlyn Huss, and Independent candidate Dr. Madeline Luke are vying for two positions on the November 8th general election ballot.

The candidates where asked several questions on a wide variety of issues that included their opinions about Gov. Burgum’s flat tax proposal, should religion be in government, girls competing with boys in high school sports, specifically those who are transgender, should diversity and inclusion be taught in high school classrooms, the legalization of marijuana, and who really won the presidential election back in 2020. These were just some of the questions asked during the forum.

The forum was held by the group “What in the World Is Going On?” A campus-community organization jointly sponsored by the Valley City State University Departments of Political Science and Social Science and the community.

The election date is Tuesday, November 8th with early voting and in person voting starting Thursday, September 29th.
