JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board approved the School Compliance Reports Monday night.

Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech informed the board that the reports have replaced the school accreditation process from years prior.

Dr. Lech says administrators are required to review assurances and make sure the school’s and staff are certified. The board would then need to approve the LEA Compliance report after the superintendent is given permission.

The school board unanimously approved.

In other school board news, Dr. Lech says the district received a Building Tomorrow’s Leaders (BTL) Grant. The grant would be used to support service learning projects in Civics.

Jamestown received around $11,200 for the project.

The school board also approved the transportation agreement with St. John’s Academy for the 2022-23 school year. They also discussed an enrollment and facilities task force.

“The intent of engaging a school and community task force to study enrollment trends and facilities needs is to gather varied perspectives on existing needs, challenges of aging facilities, and potential opportunities for enhancement in a solutions-oriented fashion,” Dr. Lech said in his report. “In this process, our school and stakeholders will collaborative engage to review data and ultimately make a recommendation to the Jamestown School Board on potential strategies to consider to address declining enrollment and facility needs.”
