VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The grandma your grandson is in jail scam is making the rounds once again along with other scam approaches via of the phone in the area.

The Barnes County Sheriffs office said residence are getting phone calls from people claiming their grand child is in jail and that they need bail money.

Authorities are advising residents, “DO NOT” follow the instructions or send money to anyone urging you to do so, it’s a scam. Just hang up and report them to your local police or sheriff’s office immediately.

Remember law enforcement doesn’t issue warrants via of the phone either, nor do they ask for money over the phone to bail anyone out of jail.
