EDGELEY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Cardinals picked up an important district victory Thursday night as they defeat the Rebels of Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-22). The Cardinals are now 1-0 in District 5 and 2-1 overall, EKM drops to 0-1 in D5 and 1-3 overall.

The Cardinals were down 7-1 in set number one, but came back, tied the score six times and pulled out the victory. Carrington controlled set two for the most part, there was only one tie early on but they led for the rest of the way. In set three, EKM kept things close with nine ties, but Carrington’s Haley Wolsky had some big kills to help Carrington get the 3-0 sweep.

Next up for Carrington will be on Tuesday at home against Park River Area, KDAK 1600/100.1 and newsdakota.com will have the contest starting about 7pm.
