JAMESTOWN, N.D. (FCCU) – FCCU recently held fundraisers for their 2022 second quarter charity, cancer causes.
Employees of FCCU choose a different cause each quarter to support by raising money and awareness. FCCU was able to raise $4,500 for this worthy cause.
The Bismarck Cancer Center, Altru Cancer Center in Grand Forks and the Jamestown Regional Medical Center’s Cancer Center will all receive $1500 to their gap programs which will assist patients with transportation, nutritional supplements, housing accommodations and more.
“It’s humbling to see the impact that a donation can make,” said Susan Long Swen, Event and Community Engagement Specialist with FCCU. Long Swen continued to share, “It’s amazing to see the work they are doing at these cancer centers. We hope that our donation can help patients alleviate the burdens of travel, housing, nutrition and more.”
Funds were raised through various means including a staff internal auction, and special dress up days like colors for a cause and Friday jeans day. Other ways FCCU supported cancer causes included participating in their local Relay for Life and Project Hope events, grill outs, the Altru golf tournament and Vitalant virtual blood drive.
