VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Hi-Liners got there season off and rolling with a huge 35-0 win over the Turtle Mountain Braves on Friday night.
The Hi-Liners defense was nothing but excellent. Giving up only 3 first downs the entire game and forcing 2 turnovers with Will Eggert and Gavin Gerhardt interceptions.
The Hi-Liner offense started the game humming with the opening drive resulting in a Bryson Heck 1 yard touch down run. The 1st quarter would end 7-0.
The game was blown open in the second quarter. Gerhardt would start the quarter with 15 yard touchdown run. Ethan Miller would strike again with a 56 yard touchdown run. Then Heck would finish the half with another 1 yard touchdown run. The half would end 28-0.
There would only be one scoring play in the second half. Gerhardt would cap off his 96 yard rushing night with a 39 yard touchdown run.
In total the Hi-Liners would rush for 306 yards while holding the Braves to 4 total yards of offense.
The 1-0 Hi-Liners now travel to Watford City to take on the 0-2 Wolves next Friday.
