CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City District 24 Representative Phil Mueller will be hanging it up as a legislator after serving the district for 14 years.

Mueller said working on a law to beef up back ground checks was very important for him following a murder in Valley City. He was also glad he had a roll in getting the Grain Indemnity Fund passed to protect farmer’s hit by elevator insolvency. Mueller said it was an honor to serve the constituents of District 24.

Mueller and District 24 Representative Ralph Metcalf are stepping down from their positions this year. Naomi Muscha and Dwight Kiefert were elected to become the new District 24 Representatives in the November 6 election.
