The University of Jamestown men’s soccer team was picked to finish seventh in the GPAC preseason coaches’ poll, released on Monday by the conference office.
The Jimmies totaled 44 points in the poll, two points ahead of Mount Marty (S.D.) and six points ahead of Doane (Neb.)
Northwestern (Iowa) received eight of 12 first-place votes and recorded 116 points for first place. Hastings (Neb.) was second with 110 points and three first-place votes, followed by Morningside (Iowa) with 100 points and one first-place vote.
UJ opens the season August 27 in La Crosse, Wis., with a neutral site match against Saint Francis (Ill.) Jamestown’s first home match is scheduled for September 11 against Rocky Mountain (Mont.) at 2 p.m.
The 2022 GPAC men’s soccer season schedule will consist of eleven (11) league games as all 12 teams will compete for the conference crown. Presentation College continues to play in the GPAC as an affiliate member in men’s and women’s soccer.
