JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Several emergency services participated in a triannual simulation at the Jamestown Regional Airport on Monday, Aug. 15.

Airport Manager Katie Hemmer says the simulation is held to meet standards set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Hemmer says all levels of emergency service get involved from Stutsman County Dispatch up to the Jamestown Area Ambulance. She says having a good, working relationship with these entities make it easy to organize a training of this scale.

Volunteers acted at varying levels of injury that emergency personnel were met with. Crews conducted triage while others secured the scene and scouted the property for any others who were not in the immediate vicinity. After the hour-long simulation, Hemmer says they met for what they call a “hot wash.”

Participating agencies include the Jamestown Regional Airport, Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown Fire Department, Jamestown Area Ambulance, Jamestown Police Department, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, Stutsman County Communications Center, Central Valley Health District, North Dakota Highway Patrol, American Red Cross, Freedom Resource Center, SkyWest Airlines and Stutsman County Emergency Management.
