CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liner wrestling team begins its season tonight with a dual at Grand Forks Central.

After posting just a 2-6 record in conference duals last year, Valley City finished the 2011-12 season strong in the individual tournaments: placing fourth at the EDC Individual Tournament and 7th at the State Individual Tournament.

The Hi-Liners will look to continue that momentum this year after graduating just two seniors. They return four state place-winners from last season: Mark Miller, Shane Undem, Reed Beckman and Steven Horner.

Tuesday’s meeting is an EDC dual. Central was 6-2 in conference duals last season. Valley City’s first home dual is scheduled for Dec. 6 against Carrington.
