Mark McKenzie (NewsDakota.com)…The 2011 Blue Jay girls volleyball season gets rolling this weekend at a tournament in Bismarck, with teams from both the EDC and WDA competing.

Jamestown is under the direction of a new head coach, as Sara Hegerle steps in for Scott Fritz. Sara is the wife of Jimmie womens volleyball head coach Jon Hegerle “I look for advice from him, and he also looks for feedback from me. This will be interesting, as we have kids we are trying to raise, so this will be a busy time.”

The Jays will play seven matches in less then 24 hours. Jamestown will open up with Fargo South at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, followed by Wahpeton and Devils Lake. Saturday, Jamestown will battle Fargo Davies at 11:30 a.m., followed by contests with Valley City, Grand Forks Red River, and West Fargo.

The Blue Jays went 14-18 last year.
