VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The first annual Valley City Parks and Rec Departments Barbecue Pulled Pork Cook off was held Thursday, July 21st in Valley City’s Veterans Park.

Co-event coordinator Matt Brandvold said the first annual event was well attended with more than 200 people getting a taste of the vendors pulled pork recipes.

Stoudt Miller Inc; won the Best Pulled Pork Cook off. And the Thrivent Financial/Dakota Prairie Associates was voted the Best Booth.

Other vendors in the Cook off included RE/MAX Now of Valley City & Jamestown, Farmers Union Insurance and i3G Media/KOVC.

The event was held in conjunction with Summer Nights on Central in downtown Valley City. The final Summer Nights on Central for 2022 will be held September 8th called “Summer Vikes On Central”. That event will welcome back Valley City State University students to the city of bridges. The group “Slamabama” will entertain the crowd on September 8th in downtown Valley City.
