VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCSUAthletics.com) – Valley City State University track and field athletes Clay Kummer and Kendra Odegard have been named NAIA All-Academic Athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
In order to receive the honor, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, must have completed at least 24 semester hours, and must have achieved a national qualifying mark for the indoor or outdoor track and field season.
Both Kummer (400 hurdles) and Odegard (javelin) qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships this spring.
A native of Surrey, N.D., Kummer was a sophomore this past season and is majoring in fisheries and wildlife management. Odegard, from Lisbon, N.D., just completed her freshman season and is majoring in elementary education.
