JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission met Tuesday and heard some budget requests from county entities.

Central Valley Health Unit Administrator Robin Iszler stated they were informed to prepare their budget and ask from the mill levy with a 2% increase in mind.

Iszler says they prepared their budget asking for more funds in the next year.

James River Valley Library System Director Joe Rector also brought forth a request to increase their budget for the next year. He says the library has struggled since the county’s decision last year to cut the budget by $60,000.

Rector informed the commission that if there was no change or increase to the budget, the library board would be exploring potentially difficult decisions. He pointed out that last years cut will affect their state funding for the next three years as well

Commission chairman Mark Klose stated that the commission would not make any decision yet and save information presented to them for the budgeting process.

JSDC Executive Director Connie Ova came before the commission to request the 2022 dues for the South Central Dakota Regional Council (SCDRC).

The $36,458 dues are split between the city and county with $13,489 covered by the county. The commission unanimously approved the request.
