recycling-parking

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Finance & Legal Committee considered a request from Recycle North Dakota regarding a possible employee parking area.

Ralph Friebel says at this time, employees park in the middle portion of the boulevard on 11th Ave. SE across from the current building.

Friebel says the purpose of the fence would be for spare dumpsters and roll-off dumpsters.

He adds that employees would then be occupying spaces for the customers. He says they would like to fence the area immediately if approved, and then add the parking if possible.

Councilmember Dan Buchanan stated he was in favor of the project.

Friebel says anywhere from 10 to 12 employees would need parking space at any given time.

The committee unanimously approved to move ahead with the project subject to the city attorney’s review and approval. Mayor Dwaine Heinrich was not in attendance.

The committee also approved the request from the JSDC for 2022 South Central Dakota Regional Council (SCDRC) dues from Economic Development funds in the amount of $36,458 with the city share of $22,969.

SCDRC Executive Director Traci Redlin informed the committee that the dues have remained the same for the last three years and the request was “procedural.”

Redlin says some of their recent work include Safe Shelter grants, the tree snagging project, downtown facade improvements, and more.

The committee unanimously agreed to recommend accepting the request.
