JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Blue Jay Activities Director Jim Roaldson talked with the school board on Monday to give a recap of the 2021-22 activities season.

Roaldson started his presentation by talking about the plethora of events that JHS hosted this year. Starting at the end of August with the annual ninth grade volleyball invitational and running all the way through state softball and baseball this spring. Jamestown hosted four state tournaments/championships and countless WDA events. He also talked about how well the students of JHS did in the classroom during this academic year.

Team fall GPAs totaled a 3.618, the winter teams posted a 3.474 overall GPA, and spring was set at 3.624. Overall, Jamestown student athletes recorded a 3.572 GPA during the 2021-22 academic year.

On the horizon, Jamestown is looking to add an E-Sports Team to create even more opportunities for students. The Blue Jays are still in search of an advisor to get the program rolling, as well as financial commitment once the program begins.

Jamestown is scheduled to host State Cross Country, State Gymnastics, State A Speech, Region 3 Basketball, WDA Baseball, and the WDA Swim/Dive Championships during the upcoming school year.
