CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewDakota.com) – With the 4th of July and firework season quickly approaching, Carrington Mayor Tom Erdmann is encouraging residents to keep your neighbor in mind.

During the recent city council meeting, Erdmann says they approved four fireworks vendors to sell in the city.

Erdmann says safe use of fireworks is important and if complaints and concerns mount as they do every year, the city may need to look at ordinances limiting fireworks in city limits.

In other city business, Foster County Public Health provided information regarding tobacco use and vaping products.

The city also approved the street closure for the Foster County Fair June 22nd through the 25th.

Erdmann says they also discussed their junk ordinance as more properties are accumulating items lately.

He says they’ll also be exploring an ordinance to allow street-legal UTV’s on city streets. Another ordinance will focus on drivers attempting to drive flooded city streets.
