N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Authorities say a 55-year-old Illinois man died in a rollover crash on state Hwy 11 east of Ashley, North Dakota Friday night just before 7pm.

Highway Patrol Sgt. David Wolf says man was driving a Ford Explorer westbound on Hwy 11 en route to Hague, North Dakota for a hunting trip.  He lost control of the vehicle left the roadway and entered the north ditch were it rolled several times.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.  A male passenger was transported to Ashley Medical Center by Ashley ambulance service and treated for injuries.

Wolf said icy road conditions were a factor in the crash which is under investigation.
