JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – What started out as an annual close family and friends event for Johnny Jerome has now turned into a big fundraiser for the Jamestown Optimist Club on June 25th.

As an Optimist Club member, Jerome says when the annual spaghetti feed fell through, he offered up his kickball event as a way to raise money and include all ages.

Jerome says they’ll register teams of 8-12 up to the day of the event at the Hillcrest Diamonds. He says they’ve reserved all four diamonds and will have one setup for kids.

He added they’ll also have bouncy houses and Jamestown Parks & Recreation will provide concessions the day of the event.

Jerome says if you can’t find a team, but you want to play, they have sponsorships from area businesses to allow others to form a team on that day.

Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be one by first and second placing teams.

He added his thanks for all the support the event has already received.
