BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Senior Haley Nelson garnered first-team All-State recognition and sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Sorlie got second-team honors for the Blue Jays as the NDHSCA announced their awards on Monday night.
Nelson tied for the West Region lead in goals during the 2022 season with 16 total goals and 18 points in her senior campaign. Nelson recorded hat tricks on three separate occasions during the season with her best performance coming May 3rd with four goals against Bismarck St. Mary’s.
For Sorlie, she picked up second-team honors following a phenomenal season in net. The sophomore recorded the most saves in the West Region this year with 147, 25 more saves than her next closest competitor Emma Rasmussen from Williston. Jamestown ended the season with an 8-7 overall record, falling 1-0 to Mandan in a state qualifier.
